Welcome to Sambal Shrimp
Located at “kayu Aya Street” no.6 on 2nd floor, Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia. “Sambal Shrimp Restaurant & Bar” give the recommendation place to enjoy the best dining room & bar, was opened on 7th of December 2012.
We also really concern about sanitation environment and service. Everything is served by hygienist way, so our guests can enjoy the safe dish cooked also as that of the outstanding food hygiene management.

“Crab Lava Soup” is one of my mom’s cooking recipe.
Me and 2 younger sisters, were born in a small town in east Java and all growed up with this crab soup.
We love this soup. When we are enjoying it we all are speechless cause we are busy to picking up a crab meat.
My mom bit feeling easy not hearing her kids yelling or fighting so I do sure that she also loves this soup.
Until one day after she left us away, I found a diamond words with her hand writing on her cooking note page in our kitchen shelf.
“To all of my three beautiful angels,
By this cooking note I wish you could be a great mother for your next kids, and could bring happiness to all of the peoples surrounding you.
We do promise to our self to continue our mother cooking side especially this Swimmer Crab Soup. ”

We serve many original seafood menus especially on shrimp with high quality standard and only used live and fresh prawns for every menu.
Try many delicious foods such as “Sambal shrimp” (boiled fresh water prawns with original sambal powder). “Garlic butter shrimp plate”, “shrimp sambal merah” and many more.
Especially for Shrimps
Brought the concept an interesting for seafood lovers especially for shrimps. In addition Sambal Shrimp also provide a variety of processed seafood menu such as squid, Snapper, crab, Octopus and also lobster with a variety of presentation options.
I ordered shrimp salad, stir-fried octopus, and sambal shrimp. Everything was absolutely delicious!
I asked if they could make smaller portions since I was alone, and they kindly accommodated my request, which I really appreciate. 🙏
Yolanda, who worked in Japan for 8 years, speaks fluent Japanese, which made my meal very comfortable.
The restaurant's atmosphere is stylish and I highly recommend it!
Food is excellent and the portions are not too big so you can different dishes.
Rusta who took care of us was so nice and attentive but never intrusive.
A young man who had lived in Japan for eight years spoke to me politely in Japanese, which made me very happy.

We find in general , the food quality is avarage at the best in Bali. But this place was a nice surprise for us. In general the food quality is very ok. I’d stay away from the octopus legs next time all i can say but River prawn with garlic is to die for. Firstly it’s very clear that they are using very fresh water prawns. And the taste is amazing. We had one of our best diner here. The service staff is very good as well. Totally recommend.
We ordered some octopus leg skewers and sambal prawn plate and shrimp burger. It was quite good! I love the sambal offerings too. Food was spicy but not too much (I think buldak noodle is spicier for comparison)
Then the security guard outside was kind enough to drop us back to our villa (10 min ride) 😆
If you love fresh seafood, this place is a must-visit. Every dish we ordered was perfectly cooked, flavorful, and clearly made with high-quality, fresh ingredients.
The pricing is extremely reasonable for the quality you get.

We ordered a variety of dishes, and each one highlighted that freshness in its own way. The sambal shrimp was the star of the table—perfectly cooked, juicy, and coated in a rich, flavorful sambal that added just the right amount of heat without overpowering the shrimp itself. The grilled squid was equally memorable, tender with a slight char that brought out a smoky depth while still keeping its natural sweetness.
The grilled red snapper was another highlight—beautifully seasoned and grilled to perfection, with crispy edges and moist, flaky meat inside. The balance of spices complemented the fish without masking its freshness, which is always a sign of great technique. Even the jumbo shrimp fried rice stood out, generously packed with plump shrimp and infused with savory, well-balanced flavors that tied everything together.
Overall, the meal was a great example of how fresh seafood and thoughtful seasoning can elevate even simple dishes. Definitely a must-visit for anyone who appreciates high-quality grilled seafood with bold, well-executed flavors.
